Dear readers,
Over the past few months I’ve written about mortality, regret, purpose, courage, presence, relationships and what it means to live fully. This has evolved into Aliveness.
The problem is that these Aliveness ideas are scattered across dozens of essays and videos. It means it’s never been very clear where to begin. So I’ve simplified everything and wanted to sum everything up in a more practical newsletter this week.
Today I’m launching The Aliveness Practice 6-part guide that brings together the core philosophy, principles, and practices of Aliveness in one place.
Why Practise Aliveness?
Many people don’t consciously choose their lives. They drift into them. A routine becomes a decade. A dream gets postponed. An important conversation gets delayed. We assume there will be more time. But “later” has a habit of becoming years.
This is how drift happens. And drift eventually becomes regret. Regret slowly eats you up from the inside.
Aliveness exists to interrupt that trajectory.
By bringing mortality back into view on a daily basis, life becomes more precious. Priorities sharpen. Decisions become easier. We stop taking life for granted and stop postponing what matters. We start living fully.
START HERE: THE ALIVENESS PRACTICE
This is a simple six-step pathway designed to revitalise your life. Please note: these sections have been designed to work best when done in this order.
Aliveness Outcomes:
You make decisions you’ve been avoiding for years. The job. The conversation you have been circling. When time feels finite, staying stuck often becomes harder than moving forward.
You become more present with the people you love. Less distracted. More attentive. More able to appreciate moments that previously passed unnoticed.
Anxiety fades. You spend less energy worrying about things you can’t control and more energy acting on the things you can.
Conversations become more honest. You stop performing who you think you should be and start showing up as who you actually are.
You wake up with a clearer sense of what matters. Small decisions become easier because they’re measured against something real.
You stop waiting for permission. To start, leave, say, create, or become the person you’ve been postponing.
Your body notices too. Better sleep, lower stress, healthier choices, and more energy as life starts feeling worth fully participating in.
And underneath it all, LESS REGRET. Which is the whole point.

That point that you made about less regret. That's powerful. When I was living my default life for a few years, one that I'd allowed myself to fall into, I constantly felt regret. I still have regrets from that time in my life. Once I got deliberate about choosing my life, choosing how I show up, that regret just doesn't happen anymore. A wonderful post and a powerful message.
